Inter, Coppa Italia, Pellegrini and Jorginho: the very latest
Hear the latest news in less than two minutes.
Inter is the first semi-finalist of the 2022-23 Italian Cup. Inzaghi’s team defeated Atalanta 1-0 in last night’s game at the San Siro. Matteo Darmian’s goal in the 12th minute of the second half decided the game. In the semifinals, the Nerazzurri meet the winners of the last quarter, scheduled for tomorrow night at the stadium between Juventus and Lazio.
Today, however, the four teams present in the lower part of the Italian Cup draw will take the field. At 18:00 the Franchi Fiorentina welcomes Turin; tonight at the Olimpico Roma the Cremonese surprise awaits.
The final day of the transfer market finally saw the official announcement for Lazio, who managed to close for left-back Luca Pellegrini. Pellegrini has long been a market target for the Biancocelesti and even cut part of his salary to reach an agreement with Lazio. “I’m very happy to have arrived in the team of my heart, I can’t wait to hug you all,” were the first words of the new biancoceleste full-back, which the company published on its Tik-Tok channel.
Another major blow on the last day of the transfer market came from Arsenal, who snapped Jorginho up in a lightning deal from Chelsea. The former Napoli and international midfielder had his contract with the Blues expired and lost places in the new Potter manager’s hierarchies. Arsenal have formalized the arrival of the player who will join Arteta’s team. 15 million euros go to Chelsea. Jorginho, who jumps from tenth to first place in the Premier League without changing cities, has signed a contract until 2024.
