Salvini is restoring the historical panels, thanks Sticchi Damiani (ACI).

Rome, August 7, 2023.”Finally and thank you!‘ he comments Angelo Sticchi Damiani, President of the Automobile Club of Italy, the executive decree issued by Minister Salvini, which substantiates the desire of tens of thousands of collectors to fully restore their cars to their original condition.
“A great conquest and an important protection – emphasizes the ACI President – for the historic Italian automotive heritage: the most important in the world.
“On behalf of all collectors and enthusiasts of historic cars in Italy, I thank Minister Salvini – explains Stitchi Damiani – a big thank you to his drive and attention that made it possible to overcome the last bureaucratic hurdles so that our historic cars could achieve the total originality of the past, as is already the case in the rest of the world, and contributed to it “to protect their value”.
“With this decree – stresses the President of the ACI – the end of a process that began more than five years ago of intense institutional collaboration between the MCTC, the Poligrafico dello Stato and ACI. A collaborative effort of design studies and testing, with investments from the State Printing Office, has created the conditions to get to this point“.
“Finally, special thanks go to the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Galeazzo Bignami, for his particular commitment in achieving this important result“.
For years, the ACI has requested the possibility of restoring the first registration plates for historic vehicles, which will then be re-registered with the new registration plates, and the Budget Law of December 30, 2020 had provided for this possibility.
The plates for motor vehicles, motorcycles and agricultural machinery are all made directly by the State Mint Poligrafico, from the square ones to the horizontal ones with the indication of the province in orange.
